Our desire to live, work and create in an ethical and sustainable manner has influenced how Ink & Spindle was established and has developed since 2008. Everything from the materials they carefully select, to their production processes, to their everyday business decisions. It all reflects their aim to walk softly on the earth.
Inspired by the Australian landscape, Ink&Spindle are passionate about creating textiles that have minimal impact on the earth. Using organic cotton/hemp and eco-linen basecloths they ensure that their textiles have inherent longevity and are free from harmful chemicals. Rather than following current design or fashion trends too closely they aim to develop textiles that will fit in your life for many years to come.

Materials & Care
Every piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind, so the shape, size and colour will vary per piece.
— Materials: Our basecloth selection consists of environmentally sustainable or organic cloths that are also produced with ethical labour conditions in mind. Our organic cotton & hemp fibre basecloths are all GOTS certified, whereas our linens are classed as “eco-linens” and are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 class IV certified.
— Care: We recommend a gentle cold machine wash or hand wash. Gentle washing will preserve the life of the print. All natural fibres will exhibit shrinkage when washed – around 5%, give or take. We recommend pre-washing if this may cause complications with your project.
Delivery
— Shipping is free for orders over $49 within Australia.
— Next day dispatch via Sendle.
— Same day dispatch is available for orders received before 10am AEST via an alternative carrier plus an express fee.
— Wherever possible, packages are dispatched via Sendle, a registered B Corp and Australia’s first carbon neutral delivery service. In some cases, including same day delivery, and some rural and regional areas, an alternative carrier will be used.
