Melanie Abrantes Designs is a Bay Area-based producer of handcrafted, heirloom objects. Founded by Melanie Abrantes in 2013, the brand is an outlet for her passion for design, woodworking, and the unique qualities that come from working with natural materials.

Melanie strives to create products of the highest quality that are equally beautiful and functional. Sustainability and the environment are also important. Melanie sources wood from local producers and is a great proponent of sustainably farmed cork. As well as being a sustainable material, cork is dust-repellent, anti-bacterial, washable and waterproof material making the perfect material for homewares and everyday accessories. Every piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind, so the shape, size and colour will vary per piece.
— Materials: Cork (a 100% sustainable material). The rope is made from all natural cotton.
— Care: Keep your new pieces from direct sunlight othewise discolouration will happen. Hand wash only with warm soapy water and wipe dry. Revive your piece every 6 months (depending on use) by polishing it with a natural wax and oil.
